Navigli urban couple session | Milan engagement photographer
I met the newlyweds Daniela and Luca (also called “the Gaioteng” family, check them out on Instagram!) on a cold January afternoon along the Navigli riverside, in the very centre of Milan. I was very excited, especially because we were going to have two special guests and I was going to add a new member of the same kind to my family too the following week… Anyways, the sun was setting down and a cool wind was blowing all around, so they had to move a lot in order to stay warm… and what a fun shoot has been! Also, the atmosphere was so special, a mixture of urban and boho vibes in this incredible european city, in a very cool neighborhood that reminds me a lot about Amsterdam. Being a Milan engagement photographer is so fun, I always get to know the coolest couples… and this time I also became friend with two dogs!
URBAN ENGAGEMENT SESSION WITH THE PUPS
When Daniela told me they had two fur family members, I couldn’t be more excited to propose to bring them along! As a Milan engagement photographer, I believe it’s very important to include every meaningful element for the couple when it comes to emotional portraits, and I would say these two cuties easily became the stars of the shoot! Who am I speaking of? The loveliest Gaioteng sisters: Coco, the most energetic and fun Yorkshire Terrier, and Jolie, a one year old Golden Retriever pup (who was already taller than me ahahah). In facts, the two sisters didn’t leave their parents for a moment, gifting us with the sweetest moments of tenderness (and jealousy also, especially during kisses) during the whole shoot. They were so much fun, and I think it’s safe to say they were such a loving family. Also, Daniela and Luca were incredibly good at giving me advices and tips for my upcoming pup adoption!
SUNSET WALK ALONG THE NAVIGLI AND DARSENA
The Navigli neighborhood is definitely one of my favorite urban sceneries in this amazing northern Italy city. At night it becomes the young movida area, full of pubs, bars and crowds. But until sunset it’s the best place to have an aperitivo and chill out sitting outside, surrounded by the coolest milanese atmosphere full of twinkle lights. Just perfect for an afternoon walk with your human or fur friends, with the slow canals and iron bridges all around, and old-italian-style bikes parked along the riversides. You can breathe the real milanese lifestyle at the Navigli, and if you want to explore a bit more also the Darsena offers incredible water reflections and views on the city at sunset.
CANDID MILAN ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER
Daniela and Luca have been completely natural in front of my camera, and we enjoyed our time together like old friends. With their pups on their side, walking in their beloved Milan made them feel like home, with no embrace or hesitation. Their young love inspired me, and I ended up capturing candid moments of everyday life. This Milan Navigli urban couple session made me discover amazing corners of the city, which I can’t wait to explore more and more with my new upcoming couples!
