Rome elopement photographer | Romantic and chic destination elopement in the Eternal city

How was I lucky enough to capture Alissa and Andrew’s romantic Rome destination elopement in my incredible hometown? I just love being an elopement photographer in Rome, and capture so much beauty every time. This super intimate destination elopement in Italy, perfectly planned by Peach Perfect Weddings, stole my heart. Trust me when I say Rome is pure magic, I was born and raised there and it never stops surprising me. As an history of arts ex-student, Ali had no doubt Rome was going to be the perfect location for her romantic destination elopement in Rome. In facts, there’s nothing better than an intimate ceremony at Palazzo Mattei, in the heart of the historical centre, to discover new hidden corners and admire this city’s majestic beauty. When they asked me to be their Rome elopement photographer, I couldn’t be more excited! Ali and Drew brought with them only the closest family members, to witness their magical day. Also, when the bride and groom look like movie stars and gift you with the most emotional moments, the result cannot be anything but perfect. And guess what… this destination elopement was celebrated in December, on the day before I officially moved to Milan… I couldn’t imagine a better way to say goodbye to my beloved Rome!

DESTINATION elopement photographer IN ROME

Planning a destination wedding in Italy can sometimes be overwhelming. There’s a lot to things to think about: vendors, permits, legal requirements, officiants, and also where to get married in Italy… that’s why Ali and Drew chose the amazing team from Peach Perfect Wedding to take care of the planning and logistics of their Rome destination elopement. Flying to Italy all the way from the States, this was definitely the best option in order to have everything arranged and ready. In case you need some extra guidance for yours, I’ve put together an interesting list of informations regarding elope in Italy. As a photographer, I can tell you nobody knows better than me what time should things happen. In photography it’s all a matter of light, and you want to be sure to have the best memories in the best light captured on your special day. So, together with Eleonora, the team member for Italy, we planned a detailed timeline of the day. We included the getting ready, the first look. the ceremony and of course an incredible sunset after-wedding portrait session!

ROME DESTINATION ELOPEMENT AT PALAZZO MATTEI

After getting ready in separate rooms at Hotel degli Artisti, Ali and Drew saw each other in their wedding dresses for the first time under the arches of the Capitoline Hill. It was for sure one of the most emotional and intense moments of the whole day (trust me when I recommend to include the first look in your wedding day)! Since it was the first time in Rome for both the bride and the groom, we walked all the way to Palazzo Mattei, stopping by to take some pictures in the cutest spots of the city centre. I love me a good romantic Rome Italy destination elopement to get creative including Rome’s beauty in the shots. I wanted to show Ali and Drew the secret corners of Rome, while chatting and relaxing before the ceremony. Palazzo Mattei was just the perfect frame for Alissa and Andrew’s romantic Italy elopement. During the vows and rings exchange, between happy tears and tender glances, a live guitar music played all around the porch. After the first dance and some family love, we moved back to the Capitoline Hill to admire sunset from above the city.

ROMAN FORUM CANDID AFTER WEDDING PORTRAITS

Putting my couples at their ease in something that really matters to me during the wedding day. The secret sauce for the perfect candid portraits is considering your wedding photographer as your friend, your third wheel, someone you trust and you can rely on. And I just love when that happens! Ali and Drew have been absolutely P E R F E C T in front of the camera during the after-wedding session at Roman Forum and Capitoline Hill, ’cause they simply were themselves! They kissed, joked, snuggled, and walked around as if nobody was watching them, enjoying their first moments as bride and groom. Our day ended on my favorite secret terrace, where we admired the most romantic sunset on the ancient roman ruins. Thank you once more for this incredible adventure with you guys, hope you’ll cherish these memories forever in your hearts. This was no doubt the perfect Rome destination elopement!
